Geek Wish-List: The new world of Modding

Hey guys welcome back to the Geek Wish-List. This week I want to rant about how game mods have finally come to consoles.
No longer will the PC master race lord sole use of game mods over our heads. Instead they will just have to lord over the truth that the PC has more mods and that they look better. Sorry guys, but there is only so much that console fans can be happy about at any given time.
Moving on to the good news. Earlier this year Bethesda released the creation kit for Fallout 4 and with it came the introduction of Fallout 4 mods for Xbox. Bethesda also said that PS4 will be getting their own mods soon. Although its rumored that they had to postpone due to legal reasons with Sony. But fret not for soon both consoles will be able to have the Buzz Lightyear’s power armor mod.

I am personally very happy that those of us with consoles can now enjoy the art of modding our games. Up until this point the only way that gamers could mod their games was by having a PC and visiting the nexus. However, now that the creation kit is out I’m so excited to see how much I can mod my Fallout 4 before it decides to die on me. The mods that I’m wishing for them to carry over the most are some of Elianora’s house mods as well as some graphic mods like those in the Fallout 4 Seasons Project. Most of all though I want the Better Settler mod by Thom293 and a mod that allows me to get rid of Preston Garvey for obvious reasons.

The only issue that I have with the flood of new console mods coming out is that I’m really not sure which ones to pick. There are soooooo many mods out there that are extremely good, like the ones that I listed above. However, for every great mod there is an equally less than desirable mod or two. Which is why many people will take the advice of mod reviewers. My personal favorite reviewer is MXR, who has made hundreds of videos reviewing some of the best mods I’ve every seen. So I really hope that MXR will point out some of the good Xbox One mods in his future videos.

With that my work here is done, or at least I hope it is, and that you are now surfing the web to find more game mods. Next week I’ll hopefully be talking about some games that we could be streaming in the future. However, that is still under discussion right now so I’ll be waiting for that information and let you know next week. Until then peace out and enjoy your week.
