If you read the October 2019 concert preview, you’re probably aware of how shocked I was about this slow concert year in Utah. Luckily I don’t have to say that this time around because November 2019 is absolutely stacked with dope shows. Read on to learn more about some of the biggest and best shows coming to the Lake and surrounding areas.   

Young Thug & MGK

When: November 6th 

Where: The Great Saltair

Price: $45 Adv/$50 Day Of

In a somewhat strange turn of events, Young Thug and Machine Gun Kelly are going on tour together. The tour has already begun and the two will play Indianapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, and more before coming to SLC. I’m not fully sure which act will come out first, but the show will be interesting to say the least. Before you attend this concert, check out “Ecstacy” by Young Thug ft. MGK off Thug’s latest album So Much Fun.   

Post Malone

When: November 11th

Where: Vivint SmartHome Arena 

Price: starting at $163

Yes, you read that right. If you somehow haven’t already heard, Utah’s favorite son Posty will be back in SLC for another show. This show is different however, as it’s his first headlining arena tour. The tour is in support of his latest album Hollywood’s Bleeding, which you can read my review of here. Posty will be supported by opener Tyla Yaweh and frequent collaborator Swae Lee. This is sure to be a good one, so get tickets soon before they sell out!  

Ski Mask The Slump God

When: The Complex 

Where: November 16th

Price: $31 + fees

In mid November, Ski Mask The Slump God will finally be hitting SLC up for a show. He will be supporting his 2018 album Stokeley, which had features from Lil Yachty, Lil Baby, Juice WRLD, and more. If you are unfamiliar with him, just know that Ski is famous for his stage presence. He hosts rowdy shows that are sure to get the crowd in the mood for a great time. If you’re in the mood to mosh, hit this show up for sure.   

Kevin Gates

When: The Complex 

Where: November 18th 

Price: $43.45 + fees

After over five years, Louisiana’s own Kevin Gates is returning to The Lake for a show at The Complex. The melodic rapper is fresh off the release of his long-awaited second album I’m Him and will be promoting it at the show. If you have not listened to Gates’ music, I would definitely recommend it as he is very talented. Start with his mixtapes Luca Brasi 1 and 2, as well as his debut album Islah. This is a show that I am personally very excited for so I will definitely see you there!   

EarthGang

When: The Complex 

Where: November 19th 

Price: $20 + fees

If you’ve listened to any of Dreamville’s Revenge of the Dreamers III, you’re probably a little familiar with EarthGang. While on their first headlining tour, the group is making a stop here in Salt Lake City at The Complex. Hip Hop Drip DJ Jameson Williams covered the group in a piece that you can read here before the show. It is sure to be a great one due to the group’s crazy stage presence!  

ScHoolboy Q

When: November 27th 

Where: The Complex

Price: $25 + fees

ScHoolboy Q is another artist that is returning to Utah after more than five years away. The last time he was here was in support of his major label debut Oxymoron. Unfortunately I missed that show so I’ve been itching to catch Q since. This time around he’ll be touring for CrasH Talk, which I reviewed earlier this year. Catch this show if you wanna hear one of TDE’s best live and in the flesh.  

What a stacked month

Honestly, November is probably the best month of this year in terms of the sheer amount of shows popping up. Many different styles of rap will be on display for hip hop lovers, it is sure to be fun. This isn’t a comprehensive list of all shows going down in November, so check local venues for more.
